SECTION ACTIVITIES
 

Electro Magnetic Design & Analysis Section (EMDAS)

  • Design, development and Analysis of various types of Electromagnetic Pumps.

  • Analysis of Permanent Magnet Flowmeter and Eddy Current Flowmeter.

  • Analysis of Mutual Inductance Level Probes, Temperature Sensitive Magnetic Switch

  • Design of various FBR electromagnetic devices like electromagnets and magnetic bearing etc. and analysis of these devices using commercial FEM software.

 

Rig Operation Section (ROS)

  • Design, construction and operation of various sodium loops and facilities for testing various components in sodium environment.
  • Operation and maintenance of sodium loops and facilities.
  • Expertise in sodium technology.
  • Sodium Fire fighting, techniques and training on   sodium fire fighting.
  • Operation of Large Component Test Rig for sodium testing of FBR components such as Transfer arm, Inclined fuel transfer machine, Failed fuel location modules and Absorber Rod Drive  Mechanisms (ARDMs).
  • Sodium water reaction studies in SOWART  rig to assess  the  damage on SG materials on sodium water reaction.
  • LEENA facility for PFBR sodium leak detector qualification.
  • SILVERINA test facility for testing small size components in sodium
  • Thermal Shock Test Facility for creating reactor thermal transients and evaluation of  its effects  on critical  reactor components.
 

Electrical Services Section (ESS)

  • Design, construction and maintenance of electrical power system and preheating system of sodium loops in FRTG.
  • Maintenance of utility systems like cranes, lifts, DG Sets, UPS, Battery Banks etc., in FRTG.
  • Facility for magnetization and stabilization of Permanent Magnet Flow meter magnet assemblies
  • Design, construction and maintenance of Electrical system of air and water test facilities in FRTG.
  • Design and Development of ECR type heaters for sodium system preheating system applications.
  • Development of High Flux Rod heaters and high watt density immersion heaters for liquid sodium heating
